Historical discovery – international encounter – active commemoration
The international youth meeting and training center House Across Borders is a youth hostel offering historical, social, and political education programs as part of the German War Graves Commission (German: Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge). It was opened in 1993 near the German military cemetery in Lommel, where 39,111 people are buried who were killed in, predominately, the Second World War.

The Lommel Youth Meeting and Education Center (Huis Over Grenzen), which opened in 1993, is open all year round. It is equipped with multi-bed rooms and shared sanitary facilities. Single and double rooms with WC and shower are available for accompanying persons. Individual travelers and families are also welcome. All meals are freshly prepared daily in our in-house kitchen. We use regional and seasonal ingredients to ensure the well-being of our guests.
